Richard "Rich" Johnson of South Corinth in Saratoga County, New York, studied photography at the Junior College of Albany while serving as the staff photographer for the New York State Bar Association. His love of wildlife and nature developed during his years spent hiking, camping and hunting in the Adirondack and Catskill Mountains regions of New York State. Rich's nature photography combines his skills in photography with his great passion for the outdoors. His photographs have been featured in the Saratoga Arts Council as well as in Congresswoman Kirsten Gillibrand's office in Saratoga Springs.
In 2009, Rich was named Artist of the Year by the New York State 4-H Shooting Sports program where his photographs were featured at the New York State 4-H Shooting Sports Banquet & Auction held on April 18, 2009 at the Roaring Brook Resort in Lake George. Framed and matted photographs, including outstanding wildlife, nature and rural scenes from the foothills of the Adirondacks to the deep woods, highlighted the event. Rich's display of photography included his acclaimed maple syrup making images plus spectacular photography of the Saratoga Battlefield, Lake George, Adirondack deer, chickadees and wild turkey. Rich continues to be a highly sought after artist contributor to NYS 4-H Shooting Sports auction events.
